About This Candle The rapturous poetry of Sufi mystic Jelalludin Rumi (1207-1273) is a touchstone of my spiritual practice. In the morning before getting out of bed, I open The Essential Rumi and read a page or two. There's nothing like starting, or ending, the day steeped in ecstasy!
