About This Candle

I have struggled through an unusual amount of heartaches this year. The death of my fairy goddaughter RaeAnne. The first anniversary of my dog Ranger's passing. The disintegration of a business relationship that nearly killed my passion and sunk zena moon. The difficult yet necessary decision to end two friendships. Facing (which is not yet the same as resolving) my emotional reasons for numbing out with food and alcohol. Living with the Bush/Cheney regime and the war in Iraq. The past few months have felt like one prolonged battle during which, at one point, I literally fell to my knees and cried uncle. The result? Surrender, awe, fear, humility, peace, miracles, acceptance, a deepening relationship with the Divine . . . and the creation of this candle. I dedicate this candle to my Dad, who celebrated 30 years of sobriety in AA on May 4, 2004 -- and who helps me remember to let go and let God. Thank you, Dad. —Carla Blazek, creator, zena moon
