There's no getting around it: we live in uncertain times, with an ever-increasing fear factor. Now more than ever, it's important for each one of us to cultivate a sense of inner security. We need to acknowledge and work through our fears, and help others do the same. We need to feel as much safety on the inside in order to step forward and be active in a world under tremendous pressure.

This candle was created during a time of crisis when I needed a way to call upon Spirit for protection and hope. The quote—an affirmation by author Louise Hay—is one to be said over and over again. The recommended books, music and movies below are ones which, for various reasons, I turn to whenever I need to feel safe and protected.

This candle was inspired by and is dedicated to my former father-in-law, a brave man who passed away October 14, 2002.
